ESG policy

Environmental and social responsibility are part of Pine Cone’s approach. We work continuously to reduce unnecessary environmental impact and support responsible working conditions.

Our current approach includes:

  • More than 95% of the textiles we use are made from 100% organic fibres. The exact material composition is stated in each product description.
  • We require materials and components to meet applicable product-safety and chemical requirements.
  • For production outside the EU, we work exclusively with GOTS-certified suppliers.
  • We support reforestation through Tree-Nation. Read more about our Tree-Nation collaboration.

We continue to work on reducing emissions from transport and packaging and on limiting unnecessary transport.

Why aren’t all Pine Cone textiles made from 100% organic fibres?

Durability and functionality are also important parts of responsible product design. Some products therefore include a proportion of non-organic fibres or other materials when this is needed for strength, function or a longer service life. The exact composition is always stated in the product description.

For example, the cover of our Happy Play foam furniture is made from 100% organic cotton canvas. Other products may use material blends when their construction or intended use requires different performance.

Is Pine Cone GOTS-certified?

No. Neither Pine Cone as a brand nor Linnebjerg Living ApS is GOTS-certified. For production outside the EU, we work exclusively with GOTS-certified suppliers.

A supplier’s certification does not in itself mean that Pine Cone or every Pine Cone product is GOTS-certified. Product-specific certification information is stated on the relevant product page or product label. Obtaining certification for Linnebjerg Living ApS remains a long-term ambition.

What is GOTS?

GOTS stands for Global Organic Textile Standard. It is a textile-processing standard for products made with certified organic fibres. The standard includes environmental and social criteria and uses independent certification across relevant parts of the textile supply chain.
